Guess who left the desert for a life by the sea? The Thompsons, that's who! So much to share, and I'll do so, bit by bit. But for now, here are a few things that make me weak in the knees and giddy with happiness about our new home state.
Canoe rides with Papa behind my uncle's house.
And this, this is the stuff that haunted my dreams for seven years in the desert! There is nothing like fresh seafood on the water, and a Maine Ginger Brew to wash it all down isn't half bad either.
Sunny days and cool nights with a fire in the wood stove.
So much room to roam and to feel the true wildness of the sea and the forest. To feel the tugging at something familiar, something wild in yourself, as you stand in the pounding surf or the silence of the pine trees.
So much space to grow an unruly and sprawling garden (which we share with my parents and some neighbors)!
My heart is full and my feet are planted back on my native soil. Happy autumn! I'll be popping in again to share more :)
