I try not to go overboard on holidays in general, and particularly for ones that are supposed to be about the Savior. But we have a really fun tradition of an Easter treasure hunt, and what's a treasure hunt without an awesome treasure at the end?!
We stick mainly to books and healthy treats, with one or two cool presents. I thought that getting some caterpillars to turn into butterflies would be so exciting! Plus, isn't it a great theme for Easter? I'm thinking caterpillars turning into butterlies is a really memorable analogy for the resurrection.
In keeping with the butterfly theme I'm getting Viv some butterfly wings, just for fun, but that's about it for the theme. They're each getting a Barbara Cooney book simply because I love her (and they'll be great additions to the collection:), and probably some special art supplies. Maybe even a print from my wonderful friend Emily who does these great, original paintings that I think are so perfect for a kids room.
What are you putting in your Easter baskets??
