I used to be really into music. Then somehow, after I had kids, I just lost it. I don't think I've listened to anything but NPR on the radio since I've been married! And now, all of a sudden, I'm reconnecting with my music-loving self. Only, I have no idea what to listen to!
I just came across Elizaveta, and I'm totally in love with her. I ADORE her voice!
And this video, with this song, is just so great!
But beyond the random songs I've stumbled across here and there, I seriously have no idea what to listen to, or even where to start looking. And here's my little confession; I kind of like some pop music(!) Shocking, I know. I never would have admitted that in high school. I'm sure my little brother would cringe to read this, but Beyonce kind of makes me want to move! So, here's my plea to you- tell me what YOU are listening to and loving! What makes you want to dance, what songs and artists can you just not help singing along to?
Here's a little more direction; I've listened to Paul Simon since I was in middle school and still love his music. Once in college, I skipped class and choreographed a dance to The Way You Make Me Feel while I had the apartment to myself (turns out the video is actually kind of creepy, just watched it for the first time...) I love folk music. I have a crush on Gordon Lightfoot and love random songs like the Christine Kane one below. And of course, who doesn't love the oldies and the goodies? I can't help it, I LOVE that last one! What can I say, I was born in the 80s:)
So help me out, prescribe me some great music! I'd love to hear what you're into. And don't be shy; you already know my secrets!
PS You locals, what radio stations are good here? I can still remember the Maine stations I used to listen to in high school, though I think the really good one was bought out (Anyone know if "Portland's Album Station" is still that?).
