Remember how I cut out all those dress pieces and stored them in baggies until a rainy day? Well, the rainy day kind of came and went...
They sent two dresses for Viv that I am IN LOVE with (I always am with their stuff): this little bubble dress and this sweet wrap dress. And so, I feel slightly like a failure as a domestic goddess, but then I just have to shrug my shoulders and think, "Yeah, but she looks SO dang cute!" You know, sometimes I get so wrapped up in the idea of doing stuff myself, that I forget that I should really only do it if it makes sense- economic and emotional sense. And if I have the TIME, which often I don't.
I can still see arguments in favor of making it all, but honestly, sometimes I just have to be real. Sometimes, I just can't live up to my own blog, you know? And you know what else? It's cool. It's no biggie. I'm okay with it. I'm learning to just take things a step at a time, and cut myself some slack when I leave the reusable bags at home (again) or buy bread instead of make it. It's okay.
Tea Collection was also more generous to Sam than I tend to be with my sewing (girls' things are so fun to sew!!), which was another point in their favor. I'm crazy about this quirky 50's-ish polo and put him in in all the time. His favorite is the Copenhagen tee.
Anyhoo, just some random thoughts about sewing and not sewing. I still love sewing, and hopefully some day soon I'll get those buttons on there. In the meantime, Tea Collection is having a big ol' summer sale and they've reissued some of their favorite pieces from past collections. (personal faves: batik dress and ikat dress (both on sale!), block print jungle tee and striped hoodie (also on sale- seriously, it's a big one!) I can't deny that I might be doing more shopping than sewing this summer:)
PS Tea Collection is a sponsor, but they didn't pay for this post, these are all my opinions. They do sometimes send the kids free stuff, which I love:)
