The CD is fun because for one thing, Ray Charles does a reading of the book and it's awesome! Then they've got a whole bunch of different versions of the story, some with other voices, some with music, some with little kids reading it. I love for these guys to be exposed to the life and possibilities within one book, how it can come to life. I think it's great for them to see how the story changes when it's told by different voices. It usually inspires Vivi to dance, and it even inspired Sam to get out some paper and a pencil and practice writing his letters!
Do you get books on tape for your kids? I've been thinking of getting some chapter books on tape for Sam; I think he'd love them. He also really likes the Martin and Sylvia stories, as do I; they're like a new twist on an old-fashioned form of entertainment and the stories are really sweet. I love stories that show brothers and sisters being kind to each other. I'd love to know what books on tape your kids have loved.
