All of Clayton's family was recently in town so we drew names for Christmas. Usually we do this at Thanksgiving, but since we're sticking to the "has to be handmade" rule, we decided to give ourselves a little extra time. Today's giveaway is the perfect resource if you'd like to have a bit of handmade in your Christmas as well, or maybe just keep the kids occupied during the chilly months!
Rae Grant is the author of Crafting Fun for Kids and Cooking Fun for Kids and is offering both for this week's giveaway!
Living Crafts Magazine says, "This book is for kids who love to craft and adults who reminisce about the simpler days of their childhoods. Organized by season, over 97 simple projects are explained on one to two pages each, and jam-packed with hours of entertainment."
Cooking Fun was a washingtonpost.com Best Gift Cookbook pick for 2008 and they said, "How nice to see new versions of old and simple kid-pleasing recipes. Most have three or five ingredients, with nary a cutesy name. The book’s retro look complements the comfort level of the recipe directions."
I love Rae's vintage-inspired illustrations. They're perfect to accompany the classic, childhood projects found within the pages. I can think of several young crafters who would be thrilled to find these books tucked among their Christmas presents...
