Clay is on to yet another project; the man is like the energizer bunny, I swear! He spent all of Labor Day making a bunch of noise out in the garage, with the culminating event being chopping a big hole in the side!
Clay served a mission in Russia and later taught English there too. Apparently saunas are a big deal there and he's been wanting one ever since. And sometimes the universe gifts you with exactly what you've been looking for! Someone he was building some furniture for was tearing out an old sauna and he asked if he could have the materials before she threw them away. So he came home with a truckload of cedar and one of those heater things that heats up the hot rocks. He's going to turn the back quarter of our garage into a sauna!
The plan is to wall off that back section, insulate it and line it with cedar. He made the separate entry so we don't have to walk through the garage, which is really his workshop. A nice touch, I thought. You'll enter into a little changing area and then there will be another door to get into the actual sauna. Hopefully it's done in time to use during some crisp autumn evenings!
