Something about the shift in seasons, the chillier mornings, a new smell in the air has sent me to my craft room. I also got some great books in the mail that have been a fount of inspiration for a whole new set of projects.
This felting book got me all excited and had me rooting around through my box of wool scraps. I love working with felted wool; I'm always on the lookout for wool sweaters at the thrift stores. Although the book has you make the projects by felting roving, I cheated a bit and used the wool sweaters instead. Eventually I'll do it the real way, but in the meantime I got the greatest inspiration from the book. I'm halfway through a little vest for Sam (inspired by the one below) and just finished some wool pants that I'll do a more detailed post about later. I'm excited to make him one of these pointy tipped hats from the book too, I love pointy hats! And I think these little felt balls are going to be my go-to baby gift from now on.
My first issue of Living Crafts should be here any day now and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it! No doubt it will inspire another similar whirlwind of feverish crafting! Bad news for the dishes and laundry that will surely be neglected, yet again...
