This week's giveaway comes from Quiet Hours Toys. I'm so in love with their shop! They carry all sorts of timeless, lovely and charming toys. And they've put together a wonderful selection of goodies for our giveaway. Know any little people that might enjoy a new lovey, some puppets or building blocks? I do!
The first item in the giveaway is a set of Apple & Eve's embroidered nesting birds OR a stuffed Sock-a-phant. Eva Vorsmann of Apple & Eve sews the kinds of nostalgic pieces you expect to find tucked away in a drawer wrapped in tissue and linen. What a lovely keepsake this mother-and-baby bird set would make in pure white vintage cotton and hand embroidered with meltingly lovely one-of-a-kind designs!
I'm sure you've heard of the sock monkey - cheery sociable critters of the traditional Rockford Heel variety or the occasional striped sport that can be seen swinging in urban jungles - but you may not be familiar with that far more elusive member of the stocking family...the sock elephant. Not to worry. Resident sockologist Nelly Noble has spent years observing them in their natural habitat, and has found them to be affectionate, good conversationalists whom you will never catch stealing your breakfast banana.
Also offered is a set of Cheryl Smith's spring finger puppets; a little hand-stitched sweetness with a bluebird of happiness, a rollicking frog, a candy pink bunny, a butterfly and a red-capped gnome (because you just have to have a gnome). Each one is hand-embroidered with Cheryl's characteristic touch of whimsy and imaginative detail. Perfect for quiet playing in church or on a long plane ride (wish we'd had some before the SF trip!)
And on top of everything, they're offering a set of building sticks from Camden Rose! I love these sorts of imagination-driven toys with no bells or whistles. Each piece is crafted of sustainably-harvested wood (cherry, ash or maple) with rounded corners then hand-sanded satin smooth. Sam has a collection of papa-made wooden blocks that we are continuing to add to. These would be perfect for the collection. I still remember the huge box of wooden blocks at my best friend's house growing up; we played with them for hours and hours, constructing entire worlds.
What a delightful and generous giveaway from Quiet Hours Toys! Make sure to check out their shop as this is only a small selection of the natural, handmade goodies they offer.
